This is part three of a three-week series through the Lord's Prayer, focusing on Matthew 6:12-13. Here we see four gospel-centred prayer points that should be part of our daily prayer:
- Confess any known sins to God and ask Him for forgiveness
- Declare to God that we choose to forgive the people who have sinned against us
- Ask God for help resisting temptations to sin
- Ask God for deliverance and protection from demonic powers
The gospel meets us in each of these four lines of the Lord’s Prayer, and meets four of our greatest spiritual needs.
- Freedom from guilt before God (justification)
- Freedom from bitterness and unforgiveness (reconciliation)
- Freedom from destructive ways of living (sanctification)
- Freedom from evil spirits (deliverance)
As we pray the Lord’s Prayer daily, we deepen the application of the gospel to our lives.
